NEED HELP WRITING, EDITING YOUR BOOK? NEW BLOG FROM WORDS A LA MODE OFFERS SOLUTIONS
Words à la
Mode, an online service for writers, recently announced the launch of its new
blog at www.wordsalamode.com.
Providing practical tips and techniques, the blog assists professionals and
first-time writers with relevant insights and inspiration for more effective
writing, editing, and proofreading of their material.
“In this age of new technologies, it has never been easier to write and publish,” says co-founder and ghostwriter-editor Roberta Edgar. “Recent statistics indicate that about 80% of the U.S. population wants to write a book, but only a small fraction feels capable of taking on the task. Our objective at Words à la Mode is to empower writers with the tools they need to facilitate the process and accomplish their goal—effectively, efficiently, and with professional polish.
“Whether writing the story of your life or a manuscript based on your expertise, there are solid reasons to publish a book. For the memoirist, it is the profound satisfaction of creating a permanent record based on a lifetime of experience and wisdom; for a growing number of professionals, it elevates their credibility as an expert in their field.”
Co-founders of Words à la Mode, Roberta Edgar and Flo Selfman, believe everyone has a story worth telling or information of value for the reading public. “Except in cases of trained and veteran writers, the concept of becoming a published author seems all too daunting. Roberta and I break down the process into digestible portions,” says Selfman, “allowing writers—novices and old hands alike—to stay comfortably on course until their last line of text is written, edited, proofread, and primed for publication.”
Both graduates of UCLA, Flo Selfman and Roberta Edgar are president and vice president, respectively, of Independent Writers of Southern California. Edgar is an author, ghostwriter, and developmental editor; Selfman is a proofreader, copy editor, and publicist. Together, they offer a complete range of skills and support to writers at any level of their careers.
